Asus EEE PC 4G review
March 3, 2008 – 5:10 pmEeextra.com’s review of the Asus EEE 4G.
Unboxing the EEE PC
The EEE PC box picture gives immediatly a well deserved impression of smallness, as you can see in the picture below compared to a Nokia 3250.

The EEE’s screen and keyboard have protections, as you can see on the picture below

The EEE is provided with a DVD containing Linux Xandros Operating System, as well as Windows XP drivers, in case you need to install it. The charger is built in one block, which can be practical for traveling purpose, but quite bulky at the same time if you need to plug it in a surge protector.

The EEE comes also with a handy travel bag casing, well designed for the EEE’s proportions.

Closing thoughts
The Asus EEE PC is a marvelous device. If you have to carry a classic laptop for work, you will be delighted to have such a light and small yet capable device. With the integrated operating system and open source software, you have a completely operative machine out of the box.
We can’t really perceive the eee pc as a replacement for a fully fledged laptop or desktop, even if you can connect it to an external screen and normal sized keyboard. The two computer class complete each other perfectly though.
We can hope for a completely new market segment to arise with the EEE PC, more low cost machines, and for the public to taste freedom and productivity with open source software.
