Micheal Dell let Gizmodo take a few exclusive of Dell’s upcoming eee pc competitor, the mini inspiron…
No specification were defined yet, but as Liliputing recalled, the new umpc device seems to pack a connectivity similar to the eee pc (3 USB, ethernet, a VGA port and a memory card reader).
The Dell mini inspiron compared to a pencil:

Another view of the opened mini inspiron:

The mini inspiron seems to have a 8.9″ screen (my wild guess), and a nice keyboard.
Asus should hurry battery production, and distributing the linux version of the eee pc 900 (from early reports, only the xp version was available in some European countries), because the competition is becoming really serious.
