Batch of reviews: Aspire One and EEE PC 1000H

June 24, 2008 – 5:47 am

A few interesting new netbook reviews have been performed by folks at CNet and TweakTown.

Acer Aspire One - CNet did review the much anticipated netbook from Acer. You can find the review here.

The Aspire One weights only 2.19lb, but bundles a battery of only 2200MAh. Even if the Atom CPU provides a significant decrease in power consumption, such a battery will barely last two hours while playing movies.

On the positive side, the glossy design is very successful, and the fact that it is one inch wider that an eee 901 allowed a much more comfortable experience with the keyboard.

With its two SD card readers, a 3G sim card reader, and its explosive price tag, the Acer Aspire One is a better choice compared to the eee pc 901.

Edit: Liliputing found some interesting video of the Aspire One in action. The netbook really looks great, but I don’t know what to think of the trackpad with buttons from both sides.

EEE PC 1000H - TweakTown made an indepth review of the eee pc 1000H. Their staff dismantled the device to show off the eee pc 1000H internals, so you will be able to find detailed pictures of every piece of hardware. The 1000H came with an 6600MAh battery, which should deliver about seven hours of battery life.
