We’ve seen netbooks operating unusual devices, like small robots. The Wificam scientific project uses an Acer Aspire One to record and transmit data in order to represent electromagnetic fields.

Twenty homemade cantennas are used to create a spacial view.

A rotating panel hides twenty wifi adapters set in monitor mode. A visualization software transforms the differences in signal strenght into pictures.

The camera creates a realtime representation ot electromagnetic waves, from a 2.4GHz spectrum, surrounding us in urban areas (Wifi, bluetooth devices, and even microwave Ovens).
