March 7, 2008 – 1:41 amWe will see how to transform your eee pc into an mp3 music player. Listening to music is great with Amarok, but when travelling you might not want your eee pc’s lid opened all the time.
So, we will see how to prevent the eee from going into sleep mode when you close the lid.
1) Open the terminal: ctrl+alt+t
2) Type in the command sudo nano /etc/acpi/lidbtn.sh
3) Seek out the line /etc/acpi/suspend2ram.sh and deactivate it by adding a # in front, and save.

Now you can close the lid and continue listening to music!
We would also advise to make the screen shut off when closing the lid in order to save battery life, with the EEEUser’s method from the following page: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/close_lid_shutdown, under Shutting off screen.
