How to play Sega Megadrive on the EEE PC

We will guide you through the process of installing a Sega Megadrive (aka Genesis), MegaCD and 32X emulator on your Asus EEE PC.

1) You can download the emulator here: gens_2.12b_i386.deb

2) Open the terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and go to the folder with the emulator, we had it located on My Documents for our example: cd My*

3) Now to install the genesis emulator you need to type in the following command:

sudo dpkg -i gens_2.12b_i386.deb

Here’s a screenshot recapitulating the commands

install gens eee terminal

Now you just have to type gens and press enter on the terminal!

The emulator works perfectly, at full speed and with sound.

We used a rather generic joypad, and it worked immediatly. You can configure it in Option/joypads and Redefine Keys.
