Asus Eee PC 900A

I have sold my Eee PC 4G, and will be looking for a new netbook in september. The 4G was still fulfilling my needs, but I’ve made my decision for the development of this site, and of course nobody is against using a better model.
Asus has unveiled a lot of new models in the past two months, to say the least. It’s not easy go through all the differences. However, there is one model that has caught my attention: the Eee PC 900A.

The Eee PC 900A is clearly an answer to the Acer Aspire One. The specifications are almost identical, appart from the RAM memory. The Acer has a glossy display, which could be repulsive to many, but includes two memory card readers, it can be found at 289€ today, and the keyboard is much more comfortable.
The 900A uses the successful design of the 900, which mas much more praised than th 901’s. The keyboard is similar to the 4G, so it might require , but a multitouch trackpad is included.
The provided 4 cell will not provide a great autonomy (three hours announced). Another negative side, the battery is not compatible with the eee 900 and 701’s battery, meaning you will not be able to buy the third party batteries made for these models, which could lead into a higher price.

Linux came back in Asus offer, this new eee pc will be almost exclusively shipped with Xandros.


The 900A integrates everything that could be wished for the initial eee. Available from August 18 at the price of the original Eee PC 4G, the 900A should be a serious option if you are looking for a new netbook.
